I’ve written about chain/spam emails before. I’ve written about Snopes.com before. These days I assume everyone knows about both, and that anybody who really wants to be well informed will check stuff out on their own. But every now and then, an email comes my way that is so wrong, and so un-refuted, that I […]
The bitter P1 is back again. Heck, everybody’s bitter today. And since I already started last night, why not pile on? Like I said two days ago, I am sure somebody’s going to make the obvious comparison to the Mavericks of last season…chewing through the NBA regular season like they were playing high school teams…then […]
Within the week, we should be announcing a whole slew of Connections Band shows for the first half of 2008. Rusty and I have been meeting, our clergy core group has been meeting, we’ve been polling the whole band, and talking with potential venues. I can tell you that the plans include the Chicago/Eagles show […]
A quick trip to Starbucks this morning reminded me that –for all most of the world knows– the Christmas season is over. They’ve taken down most of their holiday displays. “Christmas Blend” is in the sale rack. Know what’s funny, though? Technically, we’re still in the Christmas season. Yes, despite what you’ve been told, the […]

Many of you have stumbled on my blogs about Dan Fogelberg, especially this second one. Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. It has done my heart good to know that I was not alone in all my thoughts about Dan’s passing. Some of you who have watched the Dan Fogelberg Tribute Show Videos have […]

“Death is there to keep us honest, and contantly remind us we are free.” –Dan Fogelberg I’m feeling a mixture of sadness and embarrassment. It all has to do with what I blogged about Sunday night: the death of Dan Fogelberg.First, I am genuinely surprised with how genuinely sad I still am. After all, […]
Columbus Discovery: An artist, musician, writer, cultural figure I stumble on as if I’m the first person to ever know about them. Like Columbus, I’m usually thrilled to have “discovered” this new and creative talent. Like Columbus, I usually later realize that many of these people have been known for years –thank you very much– […]
