The Emperor of Mickey D’s

A new song of resistance, in honor of the Inauguration Day of Trump 2.0.

I wrote this song the day after RFK’s ridiculous McDonald’s plane ride with all the Trump Bros.

“I can’t tell you what to do
Or what’s ahead for me and you
But if they’re selling their bromance
Just don’t obey them in advance.”

The Empereor of Mickey D’s
We used to dream of Camelot.
Now RFK is all we’ve got.
He’s done and said some kooky things.
But he always told us to eat clean.

But now he’s kissed the ring, he bent the knee

Of the Emperor of Mickey Ds
The Emperor of Mickey Ds

Now, Mika and her main man Joe

They still host their morning show
They rant and rave, and sometimes scream
And always ding our dopamine

But they kissed the ring, and they bent the knee

Of the Emperor of Mickey Ds
The Emperor of Mickey Ds

They used to call King Jesus Lord
And Caesar was who they abhorred.
But Caesar made his dressing sweet
With Bread and Circus food to eat

So they kiss the ring, they bend the knee

Of the Emperor of Mickey Ds
The Emperor of Mickey Ds
These days, everybody knows
The Emperor, he has no clothes
But poor folk still eat up his lies
Cause we only fed them tallow fries

They kiss the ring, they bend the knee

Of the Emperor of Mickey Ds
The Emperor of Mickey Ds

So, I can’t tell you what’s to do
Or what’s to come for me and you
But if they’re selling their bromance
Just don’t obey them in advance

Don’t kiss the ring.
Don’t bend the knee

Of the Emperor of Mickey Ds
The Emperor of Mickey Ds
