Back from a several-day trip to Fayetteville, to move The Divine Miss M back to school. We are beat.
It was a great summer, but she’s back in Fay, and moved in to the house where she’s renting a room for the year. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, pretty near campus. But, it was a busy few days. There was furniture to assemble, and a U-Haul truck to unload.
But, strangely, no pictures. No pictures of the house or room (intentionally), but also no pictures of the three of us, or even of a good Mount Sequoyah Center sunset. (Unintentional)
Odd. For me, I mean…to take a trip like that and take so few pics.
In fact, the only pics I managed to snap are kinda mysterious. First, some baskets at the nursery (Westwood) we visted earlier today, to get her some houseplants. They were huge (the size of an average car tire) and I just couldn’t believe how gorgeous they were. See?
Then, my fortune cookie from eating Thai food last night. Nice to know fortune is on the side of what I planned to do anyway.
And finally, a picture of something that hangs on the wall in The Divine Miss M’s room. It’s a changeable message board, but it’s had this message on it since last year at school, and all through the summer.
The way she tells it, a lot of young women were coming in her room last school year to use her digital scale to weigh themselves. Some, perhaps a bit excessively watching their weight. It started to worry her. So, The Divine Miss M posted this sign just above the scale…
“You are enough…”
Isn’t that awesome?
And you are too, you know. Enough, that is. All of you. Whatever you’re worried about in your life right now.
“You are enough…”
If you think about it, it’s a pretty great message from God to us, and a pretty good reminder for us all.
So, more pride, than tears, today when we said goodbye. And, as I said, *strangely* few pictures except these few strays.
Have I mentioned lately how proud I am of my daughter? And how much in awe I often am of her?
That sign is a good example of why.
